After last week’s big victory over Sheboygan North the accolades are starting to come in for our Red Devils. Now is our chance to show them we’re behind them. East has been nominated for two awards online: Wisconsin Team of the Week on Bound Wisconsin and Cellcom Press-Gazette Athlete of the Week.
Our starting quarterback – senior Quincy Shields – is up for the Cellcom Press-Gazette Athlete of the Week for September 29 – October 4 for his performance against Sheboygan North. You do not have to be a subscriber to vote, and you can vote until 3PM Saturday. Here’s the link.
Bound is new to Wisconsin this year and is the best site for high school football scores, standings, rankings, stats, etc in the state. East has been nominated for Wisconsin Football Team of the Week. Voting is open until Thursday at 2PM. Here’s the link.
I don’t think East or Quincy will actually win anything but pride and bragging rights if we win these awards, but our program has earned the positive attention. There were exactly zero local news stations at East Friday night to cover our homecoming victory. Maybe winning a couple online awards will generate more excitement and positivity around the community. So, vote early and often! Go Red Devils!!!
